We have started attestation season for the new Quality Payment Program and CMS has simplified the process through the creation of the Portal found on WWW.QPP.CMS.GOV.
There are a few things to keep in mind that make this portal different from historical portals (think the EP Medicare Meaningful Use Portal). First, the new QPP Portal can be accessed using your existing Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM) login and password. Many of you already have an EIDM account which you used to log into the CMS Enterprise Portal to submit PQRS data or to pull your Quality and Resource Use Report (QRUR). For those who do not have an EIDM login and password we recommend that you go to the Portal website to setup a new account. Keep in mind that the process of setting up the account is extensive and may take some time. It’s important to plan on starting as soon as possible to ensure that you have adequate time to gain access to the portal.
You may be thinking, “Why do I need access to the QPP Portal?” The second feature that makes the QPP Portal different from historical portals is that it provides real time feedback, allowing you to monitor and/or change your data up to the deadline of March 31, 2018 for submission, as there is no longer a final submit button.
Additional information on the EIDM access process can be found on the CMS website under QPP Resource Library here.
