CMS is addressing feedback from the past few years from clinicians and stakeholders about the complexity of the MIPS program. They aim to reduce unnecessary components to help streamline the MIPS program requirements and reduce clinician burden. Their goal is to move away from “siloed” reporting measures and activities, toward sets of measures and activities that are more aligned with a practice, specialty, or patient population of the clinician who provides care.
CMS’s solution is MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs). These are a subset of measures and activities, created through rulemaking, that can be used to meet MIPS reporting requirements beginning in the 2023 performance year. This change represents drastic shift in the way clinicians participate in MIPS, and will soon be the required manner by which clinicians will have to report for the MIPS program.
Our team of advisors will present an in-depth review of the MVP options and potential requirements for the 2023 performance year. We will explore options and different ways to optimize your performance with this new method to submit data for the Quality Payment Program.
