These include the Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ (CHFS) projects highlighting responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing initiatives for promoting interoperability and care coordination across the state, and other related subjects.

9:05-9:30 — Improve Outcomes for Patients with Diabetes

Diabetes is a complex, multifaceted disease that can be very challenging not only for clinical practitioners, but also for diabetes educators and individuals with the disease. Although evidence based guidelines, care, and self-management have been shown to improve outcomes, a gap continues to exist between current and recommended diabetes management practices. This session will present one Kentucky approach for building a learning collaborative with a framework of evidence-based models. In it participants have the opportunity to address this gap with a network of experts and fellow learners, with the common goal to improve outcomes for individuals with diabetes.

Join us for a brief discussion of tips to implement both now and in January for success in the Quality Payment Program for 2021 program year.

10:30-11:00 — Leverage PCMH/PCSP for Practice Transformation

Kentucky REC PCMH and PCSP Certified Content Experts (CCEs) will share with you an overview of the latest program basics and benefits of NCQA recognition. Not only will you will learn how to achieve recognition, but this session will show how the Kentucky REC can help prepare your organization for value-based models of care, along with attaining other clinical, financial and organizational benefits. Our experts have guided many organizations, large and small to recognition. Come learn about our proven track record for assisting organizations in attaining this nationally recognized achievement. Kentucky Medicaid Promoting Interoperability for EPs: Preparing for PY2020 Attestations and Looking Ahead to PY2021

Kentucky REC PI advisors will share important steps in preparing to submit PY2020 attestations, along with documents that are crucial to keep in your binder for future audits. Program Year 2021 is the last year to participate in the Kentucky Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. We will discuss upcoming deadlines and suggested steps to make 2021 a successful year.

11:45-12:15 — MEDICARE PROMOTING INTEROPERABILITY FOR HOSPITALS
Kentucky REC hospital PI advisors will review the Stage 3 Medicare Promoting Interoperability (Meaningful Use) requirements for Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals in Program Year 2020. The Kentucky REC has been providing advice and guidance for over 10 years, helping hospitals small and large, across the Commonwealth. We look forward to sharing how our team of experts can help your organization achieve its goals, comply with regulations, and avoid penalties.
12:15-12:45 — Telehealth: Bridging the Gap to Access
Join us as we discuss the latest federal and state legislative updates related to telehealth. We will also review how telehealth is impacting the Quality Payment Program for the 2020 Program year and how you can incorporate Telehealth into improving category scores.
12:45 -1:45 — Proper Safeguards for a Compliant HIPAA Security Program

The HIPAA Security Rule requires all covered entities, and business associates of covered entities, to properly safeguard ePHI. Safeguards are categorized as: Administrative; Physical; and Technical. In this presentation, we will take a look at all safeguards outlined in the HIPAA Security Rule, and provide examples for each.
