KENTUCKY REGIONAL EXTENSION CENTER

Promoting Interoperability
Promoting Interoperability of a certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) is required for participation in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program and to meet Hospital Promoting Interoperability requirements. But Promoting Interoperability is challenging and changing constantly. The Kentucky REC helps healthcare organizations stay on top of changing program requirements. We offer support services for physician practices and for hospitals. We also offer a Mock Audit service to protect your organization from costly mistakes during a program audit.

Promoting Interoperability—Hospitals

Kentucky REC provides Eligible Hospitals (EHs) and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) with efficient and effective Promoting Interoperability advisory services to guide them through the multifaceted environment unique to health information technology.

Promoting Interoperability—Providers

During the lifetime of the Promoting Interoperability Program, Kentucky REC helped providers make progress toward Promoting Interoperability in the most efficient and effective way, which translated into lower costs of implementation, assurance of maximum reimbursements, and protection against penalties and costly audits. We are now in the retention of documentation period, with end year 2027.
